GREENSBORO – On Thursday, October 27, 2022, Mrs. Aileen Williams Austin, 84, passed away peacefully at Pennybyrn at Maryfield in Greensboro.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, November 5, 2022, in the Chapel of Leavitt Funeral Home in Wadesboro. Interment will follow in Deep Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Peachland.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Aileen was born in Peachland, NC on March 9, 1938, and was a daughter of the late Lloyd Williams and the late Lula Gulledge Williams. She was a graduate of Peachland High School.
She met and married a young man by the name of Thomas Heath Austin, also from Anson County and they shared nearly 60 years of marriage at the time of his passing in 2015. Together they owned and operated Allstate Truck Sales in Greensboro for 40 years.
A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, those left to cherish her memory are her son and daughters-in-law, Marty and Lisa Austin of Greensboro and Andrea Austin of Seattle, WA; her grandchildren, Lauren Austin of Greensboro, Ashlyn Austin of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Nathan Austin and wife, Jessie, and Lindsey Austin both of Seattle, WA; her great-grandchildren, Oliver, Emerson, Benjamin and Miranda, and her nieces and nephews and their families.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Randy Austin and by her sisters and brother, Betty Bowers, Billie Horne, and Ben Williams.
Aileen dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and time shared with them, and she often put the needs of others before her own. She also enjoyed cooking.
Aileen’s family is most grateful to the staff of Pennybyrn at Maryfield for the care they provided her while she was a resident in their care.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Deep Springs Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1908 Deep Springs Church Road, Peachland, NC 28133.
