Aileen Mae Christiansen

Aileen Mae (Waarich) Christiansen, 99, of New Boston, formerly of Londonderry, NH, passed away peacefully at home on October 2, 2025.

Born in Chicago, IL on August 10, 1926, to Herman and Mary (Flanagan) Waarich, Aileen attended Brentano Grammar School and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1945. Post WWII, she worked for the War Assets office, a law firm, and the Chicago Tribune. She married her beloved husband, Donald L. Christiansen in 1951 and had five children.

Widowed in 1971, she courageously moved their family to New Hampshire, where she continued as a loving mom and homemaker, co-owned a McDonald's franchise, and later worked at the New Boston recreation department and Manchester post office.

Aileen's life was marked by faith, love, and resilience. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, an avid dancer, crossword puzzle-solver, and reader. A devoted follower of Jesus Christ, she was known for her warmth, humor, joy in family gatherings, and ever-present cup of tea. Most of all, she loved her family, welcoming each member with open arms.

She was predeceased by her husband, Don, and siblings Shirley Knoell, Herman Waarich Jr., and Marilynn Selke. She is survived by her five children, Donna, Todd (Gerri), Brian (Janet), Cheryl (Russell Shiebler), and Wayde (Penny) Christiansen; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
