Ainsworth J. Kondra, age 99, a longtime resident of Dracut, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was married to the love of his life, the late Jacqueline (Proulx) Kondra for 65 years.
He was born in Lowell on December 10, 1925, and was the son of the late John and Stefania (Dysko) Kondratowicz.
He was raised and educated in Lowell. He proudly served several years in the Navy during World War II and worked in many companies as a technical supervisor.
Ainsworth is survived by his children, Susan Kennedy, Judith Micozzi and her husband Andrew, and John Kondra and his wife Doreen. He also leaves behind his six grandchildren and their spouses, Christina Kennedy and Matthew Miles, Edward Kennedy and Ashley Fairbank, Andrew and Erin Micozzi, Michelle and Zachary Sullivan, Douglas and Kristy Landry and Melissa and Christian Parra. He also leaves eight great-grandchildren: Matthew, Carter, Stella, Chase, Jackson, Brayden, Ellis and Harper. Ainsworth is also survived by his sister Frances Puglusi and many nieces and nephews.
He loved being with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed going to the beach, especially Ogunquit, Maine where he and his wife celebrated their anniversary every June; restaurants; trying his luck at Foxwoods; having a garden; and he was an avid Patriots fan.
In addition, Ainsworth was predeceased by his brother John and his sisters Alice, Pauline and Stella and his son in law Ed Kennedy.
Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, from 8 am to 9 am at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 115 Wheeler Rd, Dracut following the visitation. Interment will take place in Holy Trinity Polish Cemetery, Lowell.
