Aja Salinas Frijas was born on January 28, 1982, the daughter of John and Alicia (Quezada Salinas) Lomanog Frijas, Jr in Monterey, California. She died of breast cancer on January 26, 2024, two days shy of her 42nd birthday.
Aja lived a typical Army Brat life experiencing new cities and countries every few years while her dad served in the US Army. Her family eventually laid roots in Graham, Washington, where Aja graduated from Bethel High School in 2000.
A few years after graduating high school, Aja followed her dad's footsteps and enlisted in the Army where she served honorably as a Combat Medic. During her six years on Active Duty, Aja served at Fort Lewis, Washington; Fort Hood, Texas; and Vilseck, Germany. She deployed to Iraq in 2007 and Afghanistan in 2010.
Aja is the mother of two beautiful boys whom she loved with all she had: Collin and Nolan. She enjoyed all the days she had with them, watching them grow and just "be kids". We pray that her boys always feel their mother's love.
Aja had a love for 90's R&B, dancing, food, Hello Kitty, skincare, and makeup. She was generous in every way and was the best gift giver – many people remember a thoughtful care package or gift that Aja sent them, sealed with a note marked with her beautiful handwriting. Aja was the type of person that made lifelong friendships wherever life took her. Many describe her as a kind and loyal friend, the best listener, and someone who was never afraid to be brutally honest. She had an infectious laugh and a smile that drew people close.
She is survived by her boys Collin and Nolan; her dad, John; her mom, Alicia; her brothers, Jason-Lester and Vince-John; and her sister, Justine-Anjula.
Although her loss is deeply felt by all who knew her, we are thankful she is no longer in pain and can finally rest. While we may no longer see Aja's physical presence, her spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
Aja's viewings will be held at Beck's Funeral Home 1700 E Whitestone Blvd, Cedar Park, TX on February 14th from 5pm-8pm and February 15th from 5pm-8pm. She will be laid to rest with Military Honors at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery at 11463 Fort Hood Street, Killeen, TX on February 16th at 11am.
