We celebrate the life of Al Eugene Corzine, who was born on April 5, 1938, and was received into Heaven on April 16, 2025. Al lived a life full of love, service, and family – the things he held most dear.
In 1982, Al met the love of his life, Judi Corzine. Together, they shared 33 beautiful years of partnership, love and laughter. Their bond was one of deep friendship and shared purpose.
Al served proudly with the Benton Harbor Fire Department for 21 years, rising to the rank of captain. To his fire crew, he was simply known as "Capt," a title he carried with honor, dedication and humility.
Among his proudest roles in life was being "Pa" to his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him endless joy and love.
Known to many as "the tax man," Al and Judi prepared income taxes side-by-side for more than 30 years – a testament to their teamwork and commitment to helping others.
Al found happiness in the simple pleasures of life – mornings spent with a hot cup of coffee, gazing out the picture window, camping trips with family, and mowing the four acres he took such pride in. These quiet moments brought him peace and grounded him in gratitude.
Al is lovingly remembered by his brother Bobbie Corzine, his children: Debbie (Kenny) Strain, Robin Hanner, Cindy Gales, Shelley (Roger) Mazigian, Terry (Shawn) Lampros and Chris (Kim) Corzine. He also leaves behind countless memories and a legacy of love that will continue to be felt by those who knew him. He is survived by his loyal companion, Killer, who never left his side.
Al was welcomed into Heaven by his beloved wife Judi, his parents, his sons Lee Hanner and Mark Corzine, and his daughter Jessica Hanner-Corzine and two brothers Johnny and Jimmie Corzine.
His memory lives on in the hearts of all who loved him.

Al was a GREAT guy who I knew as family. He always had a smile and hardy handshake for me. Mutual respect between us due to his Public service and my Military service, he will be missed, and I salute the Capt one last time!

My prayers and deepest sympathy for his family,we have been good friends for 57 years and fellow firefighters in Benton Harbor when I joined in 1968. So many good times and memories back then and even after he retired and I did too we still kept in touch and he knew where his small engine mechanic lived in Millburg (LOL) if he needed something fixed. Gonna miss him a lot,RIP my friend.

I am so sorry to hear of Al's passing. I remember the very first time he came into my salon for a haircut. He was a very sweet man who loved his wife and family very much. He was the nicest and kindest client. Al reminded me of my dad by the way he carried himself. He will be greatly missed and thought of often. My prayers and deepest sympathy for his family.
