Alan Boring Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Oxford on Dec. 3, 2025.
Alan G. Boring, 89, of Oxford, formerly of Chico, CA, passed away peacefully at home on December 2, 2025. Alan was born in Swartz Creek, the only child of Eric and Queenie Boring, on November 4, 1936. Alan grew up in Michigan but fell in love with California and spent 30+ years there; he recently moved back to Michigan to be closer to his family.
Alan was an avid car enthusiast. The more exotic the car, the better. He was known for taking dilapidated vehicles and restoring them to their former glory. He always saw the potential and made it happen. His newest hobby was utilizing "Mr. Google." He loved that he could research everything and anything.
Alan is survived by his daughters Kelly Trierweiler, Corinn (Steve) Vollmuth; son Steven Boring; grandchildren Zane Trierweiler, Ryan (Maren) Wallon, Meghan Boring, and Kyle Boring. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Honoring Alan's final wish, his body was donated to Wayne State University School of Medicine for medical teaching and research. Memorial donations may be directed towards the American Heart Association.

Alan walked through my door 30 years ago, he asked me to to teach him the urethane business, quick, he had picked up a big customer but did not know how to process, LOL, we started in, and became fast friends. As it happened we were both car enthusiasts, I learned more from him than he did from me. Like my own father, Alan was an automotive encyclopedia, he knew everything about cars, I will miss him forever.
