Alan Randall Brown 'Papa Randy', 76, of
Anderson, South Carolina, passed away on February 4, 2026, and was peacefully welcomed home into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Papa Randy was a little boy at heart, finding joy in the simple things he loved most-his cars, guns, watches, and treasured collections. A true Southern gentleman, he carried himself with warmth, humor, and an effortless charm that could make anyone laugh without trying. Above all, Papa Randy loved his family fiercely and took great pride in being a Papa and a great-grandfather.
Papa Randy retired from Michelin, where he dedicated many years of hard work and commitment. Beyond his career, he was a father not only to his own children, but to anyone who needed one. Through his presence, patience, and quiet wisdom, he healed people in ways they didn't even realize they needed. His faith was evident in the way he lived, loved, and cared for those around him. His legacy is one of devotion, kindness, laughter, and a deep appreciation for the moments that mattered most.
Papa Randy is survived by his daughters Paula Denise Tant and Kimberly Shree Mitchell, and sons Kiki Tant and Rickey Mitchell; his grandchildren Graclynn Mitchell, Chloe Del Moody (Dwight Moody), and Richard Lee Mitchell, followed by Lauren Tant Grogan, Kandice Tant Wengerd, and Andrea Tant Carey; and his beloved great-granddaughter, Georgia Rose Moody. He is also survived by his niecex Misty Stamey and Tina; nephews John Stamey, Colt Stamey, Chad and Jared; sister, Peggy Mullinax; and sisters-in-law Glenda Brown and Pauline Brown.
Papa Randy was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Linda Brown; his father, Louis Andrew Brown; his mother, Elise Juanita Harris; his brothers, Michael W. Brown and Robert L. Brown; and his son-in-law, Dwight Moody.
A celebration of life service will be held at New Life Christian Center, 603 Pearman Dairy Road,
Anderson, South Carolina 29625, on Sunday, February 8, at 5:00 p.m.
Though our hearts grieve his passing, we rejoice in knowing Papa Randy is whole, healed, and home-reunited with loved ones and resting in eternal peace.
