Alan DAUENHAUER Obituary

Alan L. Dauenhauer, 69, of Spokane Valley, WA passed away on August 10, 2021 in his home surrounded by family. Alan was born March 2, 1952 in Colfax, WA to Michael P. and Cora A. Dauenhauer. He and his family lived on a farm in Thornton, WA until he was five, after which he moved to Spokane Valley where he would live for the rest of his life. He attended Opportunity Elementary, North Pines Junior High, and graduated from University High School. He married his wife of nearly 52 years, Kathleen F. McKinney, on October 4, 1969. Alan began a 42 year career with Union Pacific Railroad working as a brakeman, conductor, and ultimately as an engineer. His family was his priority, and he was an active and loving presence in the lives of his children and grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father; his sister Carolyn J. Riggs; and his brothers Michael G. and Bruce D. Dauenhauer. Alan is survived by his wife Kathleen; his two children, Angela M. (Brian) Lalonde, and Jefferson Alan (Dawn) Dauenhauer; his four grandchildren, Katlyn E., Colton Alan, and Olivia M. Dauenhauer, and Chance D. Lalonde; two sisters, Darlene A. Dale and Diane G. Lewis; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on September 18, 2021 at 11:00 am at Valley Bible Church, 3021 S. Sullivan Rd., Spokane Valley, WA.

Kathy and family. I was so sorry to hear of Alan´s passing. I thought of you both many times over the years. Alan was always so kind, friendly and happy. Your in my thoughts and prayers.
