Alan Ray DeMoss, 64, of Pisgah Forest, passed away on April 21, 2025. A native of West Virginia, he was the son of the late Carl and Fietta Starcher DeMoss. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters Loretta Doss and Pauline Marling and his brothers Naaman DeMoss, Norman DeMoss and Garrett DeMoss.
A landscaper by trade, he enjoyed his work and also his time spent in the lumberyard with his dog, Rusty, who was a great friend to him. He enjoyed watching westerns, but his greatest joy came playing with his grandchildren and being with his family.
His survivors include his wife, Judy Volrath DeMoss; their children: David Volrath (Natalie), Mark Volrath, Kenny DeMoss, Rebekah Demoss-Amacher (John Amacher) and Fietta DeMoss (Daniel Taylor); grandchildren Thomas Amacher, Ayden Amacher, Jaxon Amacher, Gabriel Stanley and Liliana Stanley; his brother, David DeMoss, and his sisters Arletta Marling and Ellen Van Gils; and a host of nieces and nephews.
