Judith D. DeMoss

ROCKVILLE – Judith D. DeMoss, 84, of Rockville, Indiana, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Mill Pond Health Campus in Greencastle.

She was born September 27, 1941, in Bicknell, Indiana, to the late Esco Scott and Pearl Sage Scott. She was a devoted homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family. She married John I. DeMoss on August 19, 1961, in Lawrenceville, Illinois, and shared 57 years of marriage with him before his passing on March 19, 2019.

She is survived by her children, Kristi (Gary) Greene of Rockville, Scott (Cara) DeMoss of Sullivan, and Jill (Mark) Paddock of Rockville; one sister, Shirley Walters of Avon; eight grandchildren, Brandon (Jennifer) DeMoss, Derrick (Adrian) DeMoss, Carsyn Wayland, Camden Wayland, Luke (Emily) Greene, Lindsey (Mason) Snyder, Kyle Paddock, and Ben(Peyton) Paddock; 11great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John I. DeMoss; and one grandson, Andrew Warren Paddock.

Judith was a member of Rockville Christian Church. She enjoyed sewing, sports, shopping, and watching western movies. She was very active in the Bicknell High School Alumni Association and faithfully attended class reunions over the years.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Gooch Funeral Home, 112 West Howard Street, Rockville, with Senior Minister Josh Captain officiating. Inurnment will follow at Memory Garden Cemetery in Rockville. Memorial visitation is 12:00 noon until time of services Tuesday at Gooch Funeral home.
