Alan Dean Douty, 58, of Adrian, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at his home. A celebration of life visitation was held Friday, January 9, 2026, and a Masonic Service was held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, the at Atkinson Funeral Home in Adrian, MO. A graveside service was held at the Peter Creek Cemetery in rural Urich MO on Saturday, January 10, 2026. Contributions can be made to Butler Masonic Lodge #254.
Alan Dean Douty was born December 13, 1967, to Dale Gene Douty and Rosemary Reightley in Chico, CA. At a young age, they moved to Monrovia, California, before moving to Butler, Missouri, where he attended Butler High School. Throughout his life, Alan worked a variety of jobs, from an autoparts store, nursing home therapy aid, bouncer, and even his own moving company. He later worked for Miller Tow for 20 years. Alan was an avid Chicago Bears fan who filled his house with memorabilia and loved collecting sports cards. His interest in collecting extended beyond sports memorabilia; he also collected coins. Alan enjoyed hunting and fishing, but he especially loved being around family and friends and never met a stranger. Alan was also a long-time member of the Butler Masonic Lodge.
Alan Dean Douty is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Douty. He is survived by his siblings: Dale Gene Douty, Bill Korte, Kathy Douty, Danny Reightley, Edith Stradley, and April Miller; and numerous nephews and nieces.
