WINDHAM - Alan W. Gammon 79 of Windham peacefully passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at the Maine Veteran's Home in Augusta, Maine.
He was born in Bar Harbor Maine on August 29, 1945, the son of Linwood M. Gammon and Evelyn L. (Welch) Gammon.
After finishing High School, Alan enlisted in the United States Navy. He was later honorably discharged.
Alan enjoyed anything with an engine, over the years he could be found driving anything from a fuel truck, bus, drag racing cars, and his true love of classic cars, attending car shows and cruise nights.
Later in life Alan was known by many for his love of gardening, antiquing, and always willing to help his neighbors – cleaning cars, hanging bookshelves, an all-around handyman.
He is survived by his daughter Trina L. Johnson and her husband Jason L. Johnson and their children of Farmingdale; brother Dana A. Gammon and his wife Ann Gammon of Scarborough; and girlfriend Kathy Paradis of Windham.
There will be a grave side service, section B (upright marble), on Monday, April 29, at 10:00 a.m. at the Maine Veterans Cemetery 63 Mount Vernon Road, Augusta Maine 04330.
