In loving memory of our father, Alan Gowans, born in Edinburgh, Scotland, on July 18, 1926, who peacefully passed away in his sleep on January 4, 2024.
Alan's lifelong love for music led him to dedicate over 60 years to the Barbershop Harmony Society, where he served as the President of the Evergreen chapter for several years. His passion for music and leadership touched the lives of many, leaving a legacy of harmony and camaraderie.
Alan was an avid sportsman for most of his life and had an abiding love of the Canadian Rockies. He also loved to travel and often returned to Scotland where he maintained many lifelong friendships.
May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may the echoes of his melodies continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
As per Alan's wishes, there will be no service. The family asks that any charity donations please be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation.
