Alan Hyrup Obituary
Alan Hyrup, born May 20, 1945, in Colorado, passed away on February 16, 2026, at the age of 80 due to Lewy Body Dementia.
Alan is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Ellen, whose life was deeply intertwined with his through decades of love, partnership, and shared memories. He also leaves behind his three children: Jason Hyrup (Jennifer), Carrie Ross (Josh), and Alexis Hyrup (Earle), who carry forward his legacy in their own lives and families. He was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren: Jadyn Hyrup, Addisyn Hyrup, Emmersyn Hyrup, Isabel Ross, Eli Ross, Kalli Ross, Griffin Davidson, and Greenlee Davidson, all of whom brought him immense joy and pride. Alan is also survived by his siblings, Mara Lynn Looney, James Hyrup, and Wayne Hyrup, as well as his step-sisters, Starla Spaulding and Paula Inscho.
Known for his sharp wit and wonderful sense of humor, Alan had a way of making others laugh and feel at ease. He was deeply loved by all who knew him. Above all else, Alan valued his family-he cherished the time spent with them and built his life around those he loved most.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor and remember Alan's life and legacy.
