Al was a loving husband and father. Al was a police lieutenant with Andover Twp. Police Department for 25 years before retiring in 2006. After retiring Al continued to serve the community as a volunteer at Andover Borough Fire Department. He was committed to many clubs and organizations that were dedicated to helping the community. He was the founder of the Garlic Run. He was a member of the Blue Knights. Al was a 3rd degree mason with the Harmony Lodge #8 of Newton, NJ. Al was selfless, compassionate, and loving, he would never hesitate to help someone in need.
Al is survived by his loving wife Patricia Monaco. Also surviving is his stepson Michael Sullivan II and his Fiancé Elena Maldonado. He is also survived by his foster daughter Danielle M. Goncalves and her husband Bryan. His two grandchildren Kai Sullivan and Lucas Goncalves.
Visitation for family and friends is scheduled for Monday, July 10th, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home – 156 Main Street, Newton, NJ. The Funeral Service for Al will be held on Tuesday, July 11th, 2023, in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home at 10:30 AM. Online condolences through www.iliff-ruggierofuneralhome.com
