Alan Morehouse Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bethel Funeral Home - Bethel on Sep. 12, 2024.
Alan R. Morehouse, Jr. "Randy," of Bethel CT, beloved husband of Priscilla (Mead) Morehouse, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital on Sunday, September 8, 2024. He was born in Middletown CT, on January 30, 1943, son of the late John and Eunice (Hale) Gotta.
Randy was predeceased as an infant by his birthfather, Alan R. Morehouse, Sr., who was killed in action on the beaches of Normandy on D-Day. Five years later his mother married John Gotta and adopted Randy.
Randy grew up in Portland, CT. He graduated from Munson Academy where he excelled in basketball and soccer. He graduated from the University of Hartford with a bachelor's degree in business. He started his career at Fuller Brush and retired from the Avon company at their corporate headquarters in NYC. After retirement, he worked part time at The Savings Bank of Danbury.
Randy, as he was lovingly known by his friends and family enjoyed fishing, golfing, and tending to his beautiful rose bushes. He was a fan of UConn basketball and the New York Yankees. He and Priscilla shared a love for Disney and went many times with family and friends creating memories that we will treasure for a lifetime.
In addition to his cherished wife, Priscilla, he will be missed by his sons, Jonathan Morehouse, and Alan R. Morehouse III and his wife, Tammi; and his four grandchildren, Chase Morehouse (Rebecca), Mackenzie Born (Mason), Shayne Morehouse, and Alan R. Morehouse IV. Randy is also survived by his brother, John H. "Jack" Gotta (Linda).
The Cornell Memorial will assist the family with a visitation at the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Avenue, Bethel, on Sunday between the hours of 1:00 – 3:00pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 16th at 10:00am at St. Mary's Church in Bethel. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to The Alzheimer's Association or Regional Hospice in Danbury CT.
