Alan Dean Rutland

Dean Rutland, 61, of Browns Summit, was called to his heavenly home on Thursday, August 14, 2025.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Wilkerson Funeral Home, with his son Michael Rutland, and brother, Wade Golden, officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather an hour prior for visitation.

Dean was married to the love of his life, Lori, for 42 wonderful years. Together they built a life full of love, laughter, and adventure. Dean loved the simple joys of being outdoors, whether it was firing up the grill, mowing his yard, or heading out on a spur-of-the-moment trip. Some of his greatest joys came from visiting his boys overseas and sharing his lifelong passion for history.

He was proud of his 25-year career at Procter & Gamble, where his hard work and dedication left a lasting mark.

Dean was welcomed into heaven by his father, Thomas Harold Rutland, and his brother, Andy.

Those left to carry on his memory include his wife, Lori Rutland; his sons, Michael (Rachael) and Brandon (Maria); his mother, Gloria Ruiz (Joe); his brother-in-law, Wade Golden; his sisters-in-law, Suzanne (Jeff) Reames, Michele Golden, and Paula Rutland; and his cherished grandchildren, Adam, Hanna, Beyla, Briar, and Finley.

Dean will be remembered most for his love of family, his adventurous spirit, and the way he found joy in life’s everyday moments.
