Alan Shelley Obituary

Alan Levere Shelley entered into rest at his home in Red Lion on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at the age of 75. He was the husband of the late Lois Ann (Buckley) Shelley who died on March 29, 2023.
Alan was born in York on February 22, 1949 to the late Ammon Levere and Eileen M. (Markel) Shelley. He was a proud United States Army Veteran. Alan had a successful career in manufactured home sales. He was employed with Larry's Mobile Homes during his time living in Delaware and Century Mobile Homes in Dover after moving back to PA. In his earlier years, he enjoyed spending his free time hunting deer, fishing, golfing with his son, and going to the shooting range.
He leaves his son, Austin Shelley and wife, Tara of Harbeson, Delaware; step-daughter, Amy Hamilton and husband, Steve of Oklahoma; step-son, David Burke of Sykesville, Maryland; step-grandchildren, Garrett Hamilton of Oklahoma, and Weston Hamilton of Texas; sister-in-law, Vicki Shelley of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; cousins, Jeffrey Shelley and wife, Betsy of Felton, Eric Shelley and wife, Gwen of York, and Stace Bupp and wife, Beth of Newberrytown, nieces, Kaitlyn Shelley Mylin of York and Bryanee Jones of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and nephew, Elijah Shelley of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Shelley.
A graveside service will take place on Friday, September 6, 2024 at 10:00 am at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with Rev. David D. Tietje of St. John's United Church of Christ officiating. Full military rites will be provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Please meet at the entrance of the cemetery at 9:30 am if you wish to attend. Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion, is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to Alcoholics Anonymous. Checks can be made out to: "General Services Board" and mailed to PO Box 2407, James A. Farley Station, New York, New York 10116-2407.
