Alan David Thurston, age 47, of Hesperia, MI, formerly of Howard City, MI, gained his wings on Sunday, August 17, 2025, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born on April 6, 1978, in Grand Rapids, to David Henry Thurston and Margaret Ellen (Mays) Thurston.
Alan and Kady met in May of 2014, and together they welcomed their two beautiful daughters in the years that followed. Alan had a playful spirit-he loved video games and board games, but his greatest joy came from time spent with his girls. Whether it was building Legos with Izzy or playing dress-up with Ellie, those moments filled his heart the most.
In accordance with Alan's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00PM to 6:00 PM, Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the Bajtka home, 226 North 204th Ave, Hesperia 49412. All are welcome to stop by, offer condolences, and honor Alan's memory together through conversation and stories.

Alan is survived by: his wife, Kady; beautiful daughters, Isabel and Eleanor; mother, Margaret Thurston; sisters, Alene (Jeff) Hopkins and Anna Badger; brother, Aaron Thurston; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Alan was preceded in death by his father, David Thurston.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made directly to the funeral home to assist the family with the expenses of caring for Alan.
The family wishes to thank Newaygo County Compassion Home for their unwavering care and support during this difficult time.
Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Hesperia Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
