Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service - Hesperia ChapelDavid Charles Bradley Sr., age 83, of Fremont, Michigan, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 9, 2026.
David was born in Vestaburg, Michigan on December 16, 1942, to Ernest and Emma (Follett) Bradley. He met Gertrude Belke in Grand Rapids 1962. They shared 62 years of marriage.
In 1975, Dave and Gert purchased 7 Mile Inn in Bridgeton. They served as proud owners for over 20 years and established many lifelong friendships.
David was a graduate of Ferris College and dedicated his life to his work as a lineman for 42 years, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues throughout his career. He spent all 42 years as a devoted member of Local 876, where he served as Union President and later shared his knowledge and passion by teaching for the ALBAT apprenticeship program. His leadership, integrity, and commitment to the trade left a lasting impact on countless lives.
A man full of life, David was known for his boisterous, jovial spirit—the kind that lit up every room he entered. He loved to play golf and was an active member of several leagues throughout Newaygo County, where friendships and good times were as important to him as the scorecard.
Above all else, David was an incredible father and a cherished grandfather. His family was his greatest pride.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Emma Bradley, his brother Ron Bradley and brother-in-law William Barz Jr.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Gertrude Bradley; his sons, David Charles Bradley Jr. (Roxanne Bradley) and John Bradley (Samantha Bradley); his daughter, Lisa Reichle (Copeland McKinley); his brothers Ray (Jan) Bradley, Jeff (Gail) Bradley, sisters Sharon (Tom) Cowart, Anita (Mike) Neal and Marilyn Barz, 8 granddaughters, 6 grandsons, and 9 great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry forward his legacy of love, laughter, and strength.
David will be remembered not only for his accomplishments, but for the joy he brought into the lives of those who knew him. His presence was a gift, and his absence will be deeply felt.
A Celebration of David’s life will be held from 1-3 PM, Friday, February 20, 2026, at the Fremont Moose Lodge, 15 W Main Street, Fremont, Michigan, 49412.
