Alan Bobby Williams, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 25th, 2026, in Cartersville, Georgia. Born on September 11th, 1956, in Cartersville, Alan lived a life full of love, dedication, and passion for his family and community.

Alan was a proud Marine, having served his country with honor and diligence. Following his military service, he worked as a steel mill worker at Gerdau, where he dedicated countless hours and was known for his strong work ethic and unwavering commitment as the sole provider for his family.

A man of many interests, Alan found joy in hunting and was a fan of Georgia Bulldogs Football. His love for the outdoors was rivaled only by his passion for classic cars, NASCAR, and his extensive collection of guns. He spent hours indulging in western and sci-fi movies, always with a nod to the simple pleasures of life. The mountains held a special place in his heart, serving as a retreat where he could connect with nature and reflect on the blessings of life.

Alan's faith was a cornerstone of his life; he found comfort and guidance in his relationship with the Lord, cherishing every moment spent in worship and prayer. His dedication to his family was steadfast, cherishing 36 unforgettable years with his late spouse, Vivian Lynn Williams. Their love was a testament to the strength of their bond and their enduring commitment to one another.

Alan is survived by his loving daughters, April Bulthuis (Brandon) and Misty Williams; treasured grandchildren, Brea Lanier, Abigiale Priest, Gavin Williams, Hunter Wehunt, Kailyn Viert, Willow Viert, and Phoenix Viert; and great grandchildren, Oakland Williams and Oliver Jordan. He will be deeply missed by his brothers, Timothy Dale and Anthony Junior Williams, and his sister, Donna Chapman. His legacy also lives on through his nieces, Rebecca Ann Johnson, Melanie Miller, Crystal Williams, Holly Chapman, and Jessica Overton; nephews, Jeremy Williams, Derrick Williams, and Tony Williams; and his grandpup, Anikan.

Alan was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Vivian Lynn Williams; his parents, Smiley Junior and Betty Jo Williams; his sister, Debra Williams; brother, Stephen Williams; uncle Johnny Williams; uncle Horice Thomas; aunt Hazel Blalock; aunt Ruby Williams; niece Gail Martin AKA Snail Gail; sister-in-law Cynthia Williams; and his cherished granddaughter, Lexi Grace Williams.

Alan will be having a memorial gathering at Georgia National Cemetery on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. with military honors.

In this time of mourning, let us remember Alan's unwavering love, sacrifice, and the indelible mark he left on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey may have ended, but the memories and love he shared will forever light our lives.
