Alba Martinez

Alba Iris Martinez passed peacefully away in her sleep on December 3, 2023, in the comforts of her home. She was 84 years old.
Alba began her life on May 30, 1939, in Puerto Rico. At a very early age, she was brought to New York City and raised by her loving aunt, Inez ''Titi'' Rodriguez.
A loving mother to four children; Joseph Cobian, Albert Cobian, Juan Martinez, and Alba Mendoza. She raised her children with unconditional love and devotion. Alba was blessed to have six grandchildren: Albert ''Papito'' and Brandon Cobian from Albert Cobian, Albert ''AJ'' and Andrew Cobian from Joseph Cobian, and Aiden Mendoza and Myles Mendoza from Alba Mendoza. Great grandmother to two Aaliyah and Christopher Cobian from Albert ''Papito'' Cobian. Lastly, mommy to her fur-baby, Sophie and grandmother to her grand fur-babies Vadar, Lulu, Buster,
Squanchy and Portia.
Alba was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, especially over the holidays. She loved to watch TV shows and movies. When the holidays rolled around, the TV was set on QVC.
Alba always enjoyed decorating her home. Christmas time was her favorite season; it brought her so much joy in decorating her tree and seeing her house festive. Her favorite color was blue, and her hobbies were playing videos games, Words Search puzzles, and crocheting. Alba was blessed with a green thumb and always kept a beautiful garden, especially roses. Alba was an amazing woman and will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
