Mr. Albert C. Beasley, Sr., passed away suddenly on June 21, 2025, at his home in Saginaw, Michigan. He was 81. A lifelong resident of Saginaw, he was born February 2, 1944, to Edna Beasley and Nathaniel Beasley, Sr.
Affectionately known as “Pops,” “Bubba,” “Buddy,” and “Beezel,” Al lived his long life fully by enjoying the simple things such as admiring automobiles, playing the lottery, caring for his lawns, watching and reading anything related to his favorite professional sports teams, and spending time with friends and family. Cooking was a passion of his: There was not a rack of ribs he did not like. His stories, sense of style, and sense of humor will be deeply missed. He took great pride in working with his hands. He was a dedicated member of the Saginaw County Department of Public Health for nearly 25 years until his retirement in 1999. Al met the love of his life, Mildred Beasley (formerly Bolton), and they were married for over 45 years until her passing in August 2009. From that union they raised six children. It should come as no surprise that he kept numerous photos of his children and grandchildren in his wallets and carefully stored countless crayon masterpieces and cards gifted to him across the decades.
He leaves to cherish his memory five daughters and one son: Denise McKinley; Albert Beasley, Jr.; LaRonda Beasley; Pamela Beasley; Nicole (Elroy, Jr.) Goffney, all of Saginaw, MI; Vanessa Marr (Jen Wiebold) of Kalamazoo, MI and Minneapolis, MN. Grandchildren LaToya Rodgers (Chris Morris), LaShonna Bolton, NaKesha Bolton, Brian McKinley, Jr. (Chelsea Garza), Korey Davis, Andrew Beasley, Johnnie Davis, Alex Krueger, De’Quarris Beasley, NaTasha Beasley, NaKia Beasley, Miguel Beasley, Brandon Marr, Jordan Marr, and Jalen Goffney. A host of great-grandchildren, including special great-grandchildren, Antonio Beasley and Kylie Morris. Close family friends Bertha Bibb and Family, as well as the Staton Family. Dear friends include Carl Gaunt, Kenneth Sohn, and Sandra Torrence. A host of relatives, friends, and special fur babies, Sonni J and Scrappy also will continue to cherish his memory.
In addition to his beloved wife and parents, Al was preceded in death by his brothers Nathaniel Beasley, Jr. and Alfred Rouse; sisters Barbara Williams and Rose McDonald; son-in-law Brian McKinley, Sr.; and several other precious family members.
