Albert Billups Junior, aged 55, departed from this world on October 8, 2023, in
Dixon, Illinois, surrounded by the love and warmth of his family and friends. Born in
St. Louis, Missouri, on February 27, 1968, to Albert Billups Sr. and Ruthie Mae Billups, he leaves behind an indelible legacy.
A proud alumnus of Roosevelt High School in Peoria, Albert found pride and joy in the life he built - a testament to which are his beautiful children, a loving marriage, and the many lives he touched as a guiding and supportive figure.
Albert found solace in his faith and was baptized at the young age of 13 in 1981. A devoted member of Calvary Lighthouse Church in
Rochelle, Illinois, his faith guided him through life's many challenges and joys.
Beyond his commitments, Albert revealed in the simple pleasures of life. Whether it was fishing under a clear sky, engaging in a strategic game of chess, playing slots, scratching tickets, or soaking in the tunes of gospel and hip-hop, he lived life with enthusiasm. The memories of movie nights with his children, with laughter echoing through the room, will forever be cherished by his family.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Krista Herchenbach-Billups; children Albin (Huck) Billups, Vontoya (Precious) Billups, Khloe Billups, Kambrya (BB) Billups, and Gita Thomas; his mother, Ruthie Mae Billups; brothers, Larry (Nicole) Smith, Ernest (Mary Anne) Wren, Larry Billups, Antonio (Ebony) Billups, John (Tonie) Kirkland; sisters, Louvnia Lewis, Maggie (Robert) Sharp, Brenda (Robert) Stringer, Alma Billups, Jenny R. Billups and Ruthie Wren. He was also a doting grandfather to seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Albert's memory will live on not just within his family, but also through his vast community of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and special friends, including Michael Graham, Tommy and Kris Goodwin, Keith Humbles, Wanda Thornton, and Don Stindt.
He was preceded in death by his father Albert Billups Sr. son Alonzo Wayne Billups, two brothers James Wren, Albert Smith, two sisters Neomi Wren, Fanny Mae Billups, maternal and Fraternal grandparents one grandson Albin Billups Jr. three nephews Eddie Wren, Cristopher Wren, Micheal Lewis.
His life, though not without its trials, was a testament to love, resilience, faith, and community. Albert Billups Junior will be deeply missed, but his legacy will continue to shine in the hearts of all those he touched. Rest in eternal peace, dear Albert.
