WEST TOWNSEND: Albert E. Cadrette, 92, a longtime resident of West Townsend, died
Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Health Alliance – Leominster Hospital.
Al was born in Fitchburg, June 23, 1932, a son of Almedes and Julia (Cloutier) Cadrette and
was a 1950 graduate of Fitchburg High School.
For over 65 years Al owned and operated The Settle Shop in West Townsend. He was a
communicant of St. John's Church in Townsend where he served as an usher for many years.
He enjoyed driving his 1931 Model A Ford and his 1912 Ford C-Cab and was a long-time
member of the "Yankee Ingenui "T"s Car Club. He and his late wife Ruth enjoyed being
members of the Cleghorn Squares of Fitchburg.
Al leaves 6 children: Anne M Cadrette of West Townsend, Janet Brown and husband, David of
Derry, NH; Douglas R Cadrette of Ayer; Melinda C Perkins of Nashua, Anthony J Cadrette and
his wife,Yvonne of Fitchburg and John T Cadrette of West Townsend and five step-daughters,
Kathy Carey and partner Larry Simes of Ojai, CA, Sandy Parkhurst and partner Ed Frechette of
Ashby, Nancy Carey and partner Jeff Boulay of Townsend, Patty Aubuchon and husband Tom
Aubuchon of Townsend, Jean McCrillis and husband Joshua McCrillis of Barre, MA
His beloved sister, Doris M. Cadrette of Fitchburg; and 12 grandchildren: Tyler R. Perkins,
Hannah R. Perkins, Terri R. Cadrette; Kristin Carlson, Michela Carlson, Carey Parkhurst, Kelly
Simon, Lewis Sheen, Trisha Sheen, Alexis Aubuchon, Ryan Aubuchon, Benjamin Nichols; 3
great grandchildren, Autumn Simon, Charlie and Walter Aubuchon; many nieces and nephews
and his constant companion, Bear the cat.
He was the husband of Ruth E. (Walker) Cadrette who died in October 1987, and Marie E.
(Barber) Carey Cadrette who died in January 2013.
He was predeceased by his son, Jeffrey A. "Red" Cadrette who died in November 2020 and by
his brother Bernard Cadrette of Lunenburg, and sisters Mildred Mannix of Fitchburg and Marian
Andrews of Norwich, CT.
Al's Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Saturday, November 23, 2024 at St. John's Church,
1 School Street, Townsend. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, West Townsend.
Al's family will receive relatives and friends at calling hours from 4- 7 PM Friday, November 22, 2024 at the
Anderson Funeral Home, 250 Main Street (Rte 119) Townsend Center. www.andersonfuneral.com
