Albert Harry Cook Jr., also known as Al or Jr. to many of his friends and family, passed away at his home on Sunday August 24, 2025. He was 79 yrs old.

Albert was born February 3,1946 in Adrian, Michigan to Albert Harry Cook Sr. and Donna Jean (Wild) Cook. He graduated from Adrian High School in 1964 and went on to spend 30 years working in law enforcement for Morenci PD, Lenawee County Sheriff's Department and Woodstock Township PD. He also served 21 years in the Michigan National Guard, Company B, 156 Signal Battalion in Adrian Mi, retiring with the rank of SSG.

Al loved all things outdoors and spent much of his time fishing, shooting and hunting, but especially appreciated doing these things with family and friends. Al and his wife cherished taking yearly fishing trips with good friends Jimmy and Ruthie Spycher of Adrian (deceased), and Al treasured the friendship and fishing partner he had with Bruce VanWieren of Hudson.

Al is survived by his wife of 47 years, Denise (Celani) Cook, and sisters Linda Jean Hooker, wife of Danny Hooker (deceased) of Adrian, Sherry Lynn Squiers, wife of Randy Squiers of Missouri, and sister-in-law Christine Celani of Florida.

Al is also survived by his 6 nieces and nephews and their spouses, as well his 12 great nieces and nephews: Toby (Stephanie, Stella, Everett) Hooker of Utah, Tanya (Eric, Aiden, Parker) Smith of Adrian, Nicholas (Melissa, Owen, Brock, Paxton, Wyatt) Squiers of Kansas, Danielle (Alex, Boston, Beckham) Miller of Missouri, Zachary (Payge, Haven, Maverick) Squiers of Missouri and Jacob (Brittany) Squiers of Missouri.

A memorial luncheon will be held at the Hudson American Legion Post 180 on Saturday, September 6th, at 12:30 pm. The Honor Guard will be held and luncheon to immediately follow until 3:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, cash or check donations can be made to the Hudson American Legion Post 180 (16113 Cadmus Rd, Hudson, MI 49247).
