Albert Roy Erwin, 90, husband of Hannah Altman Erwin, passed away at his home in Florence on Tuesday, July 9, 2024.
Albert was born in Fullmore, Michigan, a son of the late Walter and Theresa Erwin. He was a foreman for Pepsi-Cola Company of Florence. Albert was also a veteran of the Korean War who served in the US Air Force.
Albert was a Christian man who served the Lord in multiple ways throughout his life. He attended Park Lane Church in Florence where he was a rotating speaker. In earlier years he served as a deacon and Adult Sunday School teacher at First Free Will Baptist Bible Church and was a member of the Maranatha Christian School Board, both in Florence. He witnessed to many people his entire life and later in life through the distribution of his own printed materials. He also wrote and published I'm a Free Man, a book based on the life of his son, Dale Erwin.
As a young man, Albert's hobbies included fishing and hunting. In his later years, Albert found pleasure in hand-creating a diorama for his elaborate model train set. Throughout his life, he enjoyed traveling in and around the United States with his wife.
Albert is survived by his wife of 67 years; daughters Sandy (Jacob) Waleri and Becky (Stanley) Thompson; an "adopted" daughter, Reborah Moy; a sister, Linda Chabot; a brother, Tony (Barb) Erwin; grandchildren Ashley (Allen) Cusack, Hannah (Chris) McFadden, John Miller, Brittany (Joshua) Vicari, Julian Thompson, and Luke Thompson; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Albert is pre-deceased by a son, Aaron Dale Erwin, and a brother, Wayne Erwin.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. at Westside Free Will Baptist Church on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 530 Vox Highway, Johnsonville, SC 29555. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, will be in the Eaddy Ford Cemetery, 481 S. Eaddy Ford Road, Johnsonville, SC, 29555.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Westside Free Will Baptist Church.

Dear Hannah, I am sorry to hear that Al passed away! It´s already been a year and I´m just finding out! He and Charles spent many an hour discussing Scripture, along with Bob J. Please know that it was your influence as well as Al, Charles and Bob, that led me to rightly divide the Word! I found a great group here where I am learning to rightly divide. Thank God for Believers such as you and Al! Much love, Janet
PS, I still wear the little earrings you wore one day and I admired them and you immediately took them off and gave them to me!
