I just got the news today Mr. Fanelli Passed away. I went to School with Albert Jr. Albert, Chris and Mrs Fanelli, my deepest condolences. Mr. Fanelli was a such a positive influence on all our lives growing up in Drexel Hill. From the Barber Shop to being an Usher At 9:00 mass at St. Bernadette's. You could always count on a Big smile and a firm but such a heart warming handshake. Rest In Peace Mr. Fanelli. So many lives are better today for your years of kindness and caring. A great man!!!!

I am definitely saddened to learn of Mr. Fanelli's death. I was a long time customer at his barber shop from the time I was really little. He would always ask me how school was & how I liked my job when I grew older and I knew he genuinely cared. A true gentleman & an all around upstanding, outstanding guy. One of the biggest Phillies fans I ever knew. I will forever miss the days of my youth getting a haircut in his shop, listening to WPEN and the lollipops if I was well behaved. Rest in peace Mr. Fanelli!

It was a great day when I made my monthly visit to Fanelli's Barber Shop. To sit in Al's shop and listen to all his customers tell of their local stories was as good as it gets. Everybody was a friend of Al's, Republican or Democrat . . . Catholic or Jew . . . executive or delivery boy. We all have lost a dear friend. God bless Al and all his family.

My sincere condolences to the Fanelli Family. Your father was true gentleman, I still live in the drexel hill area and would periodically see Mr. Fanelli walking past my house and going to work, there was never a time he would not stop and give you a big smile, shake your hand and say a few kind words. May he rest in peace.

My condolences to Helen Albert and Chris on the loss of Barney. I have such vivid memories of he and my dad joking and laughing during many parties and get togethers
He always told great stories. He also had a warm smile. I feel glad I grew up with you all as neighbors.

Dear Helen & Family: Condolences from the Pasquarello Family. Al and my dad, Jim Pasquarello, worked a ton for the St. Tommy More Board and enjoy every minute of it and each other. My sister, Anissa LoSasso, and I were fortunate enough to get to know and love Al on the St. Tommy More cruise to the Caribbean in 1991...what a blast that was! Soon after, Al & Helen attended my wedding and Al was the first barber to give my boys their first hair cuts. My dad loved Al; now they'll reunite. Love to all.

Mr Fanelli was a part of my life for more than twenty years, in the 70s and 80s, if for only an hour or so every other month. He always spoke of his Boys. I can still see that picture of his youngest, when he was rowing on the Delaware, in my mind. My thoughts and Prayers go out to the Fanelli Family.

Dear Helen & Family: My name is Maria Costello and I am the daughter of Jim & Carol Pasquarello. My dad and Al served a ton of time together on the St. Tommy More Board for many years and enjoyed every second of it and each other. My sister, Anissa LoSasso, and I were lucky enough to join the St. Tommy More cruise to the Caribbean in 1991 and spent time getting to know and love Al. From then on Al and Helen attended my wedding and then gave both of my boys their first hair cuts at his shop. Such a beautiful, wonderful man! Love to all. Condolences from the Pasquarello Family.

We are truly sorry for your loss. Mr. Fanelli was one of the greatest men I knew…great conversationalist, he gave tremendously and without seeking recognition, and a fantastic family man. We knew there would be a fair amount of laughter between Barney and Betty before we went out on any given Friday.

Mr. Fanelli was one of those few great men that you will get a chnace to meet in your life time. For me on a personal side, when I was twelve years old I broke my back and was in a body cast for 5 months. Mr. Fanelli came over to our house to give me a haircut, You wont find a "house call" barber these days. Mr. Fanelli was a loyal friend always ready with a joke or an ear to listen. You will be missed Mr. Fanelli, look in on on from time to time would you? Love ya pal!!!

Rest in peace Mr. Fanelli. Mrs. Fanelli, Chris, Al, Jeanne and all the Fanellis our heartfelt condolences and prayers to all of you in your time of grief. I will always remember him as one of the few people I've met in life who ALWAYS had a smile on their face.

With deepest sympathy,
