Albert Johnson Obituary

Published by Woodward Funeral Home on Nov. 6, 2008.
JOHNSON, Albert G. "Sambo," born February 3, 1931, died on November 4, 2008. A lifetime resident of Louisa County, he helped lead the county in numerous elected and appointed offices. For many years he was a legislative aide in the House of Delegates as well as maintaining his hand in the county. Sambo, a longtime member of The Church of the Incarnation, is survived by his wife, Sally; a daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline and Lloyd Holbert; grandchildren, Troy and Marianna Wade, Andy and Lauren Wade, Kelly Wade and David Noel; and great-grandchildren, Porter Wade and Tanner Wade. Those who knew him best are not surprised that the consummate politician left this world on Election Day. Visitation will be held at Woodward Funeral Home in Louisa on Thursday, November 6, from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Spring Grove Cemetery in Mineral, Va., on Friday, November 7, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to The Hospice of the Piedmont, or The Church of the Incarnation. Sally and Jackie,
We are so sorry to hear of Sambo's passing. He will always be remembered as an unforgetable son of Louisa County. His love for his county was represented in all that he did and all that he stood for. We are keeping you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.
God Bless,

My deepest sympathy to Sally, Judy Gough, and family. Though, I only
knew Sambo for a brief period of time, he was til "Family" to me. Sambo was my "third" cousin, and I had the pleasure of meeting him and Sally at a Family Reunion two years ago for the first time. This was indeed one of my fondest memories and I will cherish it for many years to come. Sambo was truly a fine gentleman and much loved by everyone. With Love and Deepest
Sympathy, Janet Ennis Beard
