Albert Jordan Obituary
Albert H. "Al" Jordan, age 85, of Meco, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at his home.
He was born June 26, 1938, in Cooperstown, the son of Harvey Albert and Marjorie Ellen (Hall) Jordan. He attended Owen D. Young School in VanHornsville. At the age of 19 he joined the US Army Reserve. He retired from Contel/Frontier in 1989. Al was employed all his life as an automobile mechanic and owned and operated Jordan's Garage in Meco for many years.
Al is survived by five children, Michael J. Jordan (Kathleen), Debbie L. Stewart, Kelly A. Sawitzki (John), Randy A. Jordan and Jennifer J. Tallon (Shawn); a special niece, Sherry A. Hayward (David); twelve grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Mary L. (Waffle) Jordan; and a sister, Edith Miller (George).
The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 6 pm, Thursday, March 7th at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Homes, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville.
Private interment with Military Honors will take place at the convenience of the family at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the James A. Brennan Memorial Humane Society, 437 Nine Mile Tree Rd; Gloversville, or Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078.
