Albert Klaas Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Andres-Wuestefeld Funeral Home - Dover on Oct. 17, 2023.
Albert John Klaas, known to his loved ones as Al, passed away on July 6, 2011, at the age of 62 in Chelsea, Oklahoma. He was born on June 8, 1949, in Cincinnati, OH and graduated from North Dearborn High School in 1969. Two years later, in 1971, he was drafted by the United States Army. Al proudly served his country during the Vietnam War, demonstrating his unwavering commitment and bravery.
Throughout his career, Al worked as a machinist showcasing his skills and dedication in his profession. When he had spare time, he enjoyed fishing which brought him solace and joy. Growing up, Al and his best friend, Chuck Andrews, would rush to get their chores done so they could go fishing in their favorite watering hole on Mt. Pleasant Road.
Al was a quiet, but somewhat serious man dedicated to his family and known for his hard work. He is deeply missed by all that knew him. Al is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah Davidson Klaas, his son Mike, his daughter Mary, and his brother David. He is preceded in death by his mother Mary Zurweller Klaas and his father Albert George Klaas.
Family and friends are grateful to finally lay Al to rest, in the cemetery just across the street from the pond where he loved to fish. Please join them at a graveside service with military honors on Monday, October 23 at 1:00pm at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Andres-Wuestefeld Funeral Home for his permanent memorial in the cemetery or to Mt. Pleasant Cemetery for the perpetual care of his burial location. Memorials will be accepted at the graveside service or can be mailed to the funeral home at 25615 State Rt. 1, Guilford, IN 47022. Family and friends are encouraged to leave condolences at www.andres-wuestefeldfh.com.
