ARCANUM — Albert "Al" Kuhbander, age 83, of Arcanum, Ohio, went to be with the Lord at Everhart Care Center on Oct. 23, 2021, following an extended illness.
Al was a devoted Christian with a strong faith. He dedicated much of his time to working with the church, focusing on AWANA and the church youth group. He was a compassionate, kind, and patient man. He loved to fish and hunt when he could, and especially loved spending as much time as he could with his grandchildren. Al was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend that will be deeply missed by all the lives he has touched.
Al is preceded by his parents, Alfred and Mary Kuhbander.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gretchen Kuhbander; children, John (Elaine) Kuhbander, Mark (Melina) Kuhbander, Cheryl (Vince) Pressly, Dan (Kathy) Kuhbander; grandchildren, Joshua (Jessica) Kuhbander, Jill (Andrew) Detrick, Jessica (Joshua) Newell, Nick (Brittany) Kuhbander, Sara (Tyler) Baker, Alex (Mikayla) Pressly, Austin (Trisha) Pressly, Devin Kuhbander, Lily Kuhbander; 20 great-grandchildren (with two more on the way); brother, Roger (Diana) Kuhbander; niece, Staci (Jesse) Picker; nephew, Brad Kuhbander; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Eubank-Kuhbander; friend, Bobby Day, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021, at 12 p.m. (noon) at Immanuel Baptist Church, 500 W South Street, Arcanum. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursday at the church, leading into the services.
