Albert H. Lepine passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early morning of April 18th (Good Friday) at his home. His devoted and loving wife, Anne, was by his side. In the weeks leading up to his passing, family and friends surrounded him with visits, laughter, and love — just the way he would have wanted.
Albert was born in Hardwick, Vermont, and grew up on a dairy farm as the oldest of three children. He attended a one-room schoolhouse, where he developed the strong work ethic and resilience that carried him throughout his life. Farming wasn’t the path Albert saw for himself, and at the young age of 17, he left Vermont and headed to Chicago to attend airline mechanics school — setting off on a journey that would shape the rest of his life.
While working for United Airlines in New York as an airline mechanic, he met the love of his life, Antoinette Radogna. They married on May 30, 1959, and together built a beautiful family with five children, ten grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Albert was a hardworking, self-taught man who wore many hats in his lifetime. After working as an airline mechanic, he ventured into real estate in New Jersey, and then, in 1975, moved his family west to Niwot, Colorado. There, he thrived as a tool salesman for Mac Tools, eventually rising to become a district sales manager. He retired in June of 1996 — though retirement only opened the door to new adventures.
Albert and Anne traveled together to 42 countries and 17 islands, savoring the experiences and memories they created around the world. At home, Albert found joy in cooking and developed a love for bread making, filling the house with delicious smells — and filling the hearts of his family with even more love. He had a gift for bringing people together, whether through a hearty meal, a lively conversation, or a shared laugh that could light up a room. If you ever couldn't find Albert, you just had to follow the laughter — or look for a bench where he was likely making a new friend.
Albert leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, hard work, and kindness. His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will carry forward the values he and Anne instilled: love deeply, work hard, keep the faith, and always make room at the table.
A memorial service celebrating Albert’s life will be held on Monday, May 12th, at 10:30am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Longmont, Colorado.
