Albert Stanley McBride, age 91, of Mooresville - formerly of Indianapolis and Freedom - passed away peacefully at his home on Veteran's Day, Tuesday evening, November 11, 2025. Born on February 18, 1934, in Owen County, he was the son of Melvin Gilbert McBride and Blanche Bernice (Fiscus) McBride.
Stan grew up with strong Midwestern values that stayed with him his entire life - faith, family, and hard work. After graduating from high school, he answered the call to serve his country, entering the United States Army in 1955. He was honorably discharged two years later, forever proud of his military service and the friendships it brought him.
After returning home, Stan spent many years working for ADI in Indianapolis and later retired from Appliance Parts. Whether at work or in his community, he was known for his steady presence, know-how, and willingness to lend a hand whenever someone needed help.
Faith and fellowship played a big part in his life. He was a member of Chapel Rock Christian Church, where he drew strength from his faith. He also found camaraderie through his membership in the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, and Shriners.
Stanley's greatest joy, however, was his family. He was a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Stan is survived by his wife of 69 years, Wanema Dean (Wells) McBride; his daughter, Michelle Lynn (Andy) Catellier; his son, Steven Lee McBride; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Irma Joyce (McBride) Hostetler and Donna Jane (McBride) Martin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his infant sister; and his brother, Larry McBride.
A graveside service will be held at Littlejohn Cemetery in Coal City on at 1:30 pm on Monday, November 17, 2025.
Arrangements are in the care of Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington of Walton Funeral Service.
