Albert J McGregor

Albert J. McGregor, 89, of Hazlet, NJ, passed away peacefully at Arnold Walter Nursing Home, Holmdel, NJ, on Thursday, January 23, 2025. Albert was born on March 22, 1935, in Newark, NJ. In 1950, he moved to West Caldwell, NJ, and in 1958 he moved to Livingston, NJ. Albert then settled down with the love of his life, Martha and they made their final move to Hazlet, NJ in 1961 where they raised their family. He was fondly known as Al by his family and friends. Al graduated from Caldwell High School class of 1954. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army. Al was also the proprietor of Royal K. Flooring in Matawan, NJ before retiring.
Al was a lover of the great outdoors. He was a dedicated yachtsman, sailing the waters of NJ, NY and Maryland. Al also served as Commodore of the Keyport Yacht Club in 1979-1980. In addition, he did many miles on his Harley crossing the USA.
Al was predeceased by his parents, John A. and Myrtle (Weber) McGregor, his sons Albert J. McGregor (1994) and Kenneth Scott McGregor (2022). He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Martha A. (Burns) McGregor, his loving son David McGregor and his wife Kerry of Succasunna, NJ, his dear daughter-in-law Lisa McGregor of Matawan, NJ, his brother John McGregor and his wife Elizabeth, along with his cherished grandchildren Sean and his wife Brooke, Megan and her husband Brian, Matthew, Steven, Briana and her husband Elijah and Lauren and his great granddaughter, Emerson. He will be deeply missed, forever loved and never forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, January 26, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at Shore Point Funeral Home, 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, NJ 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 27, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel, NJ 07733.
