Korsmo Funeral and Cremation ServiceAlbert Leroy Meader, emerged into the world on March 16, 1945, born to the caring arms of Victor and Bernice Meader in Sandstone, MN. A spirited child of the wild countryside, he found joy in the rev of an engine — a passion that would fuel his adventures as he raced through life, leaving trails of mischief and laughter in his wake.
On September 24, 1965, he met his true partner in life, Dianne Gutknecht, whom he cherished with all his heart. Together, they created a beautiful family, welcoming their beloved daughter, Amy. Over the years, they crafted a life rich with memories in various towns, finally finding their home in Moorhead, MN, in 1977. Albert dedicated many years to the railroad as a signal and switch maintainer, a path he lovingly paved until his retirement from BNSF in 2002.
The couple delighted in crafting treasures together, showcasing their artistry at local craft fairs, and basking in serene moments by the lakes — Little Toad Lake and Oaklawn Lake Resort, near Henning, where laughter echoed and family bonds deepened. Albert’s fishing adventures offered solace and excitement, while their travels to tractor pulls, demolition derbies, and exhilarating car races in Iowa filled their lives with joy. Amongst these adventures were cherished family vacations, including an unforgettable journey to Washington DC, a tapestry woven with love and discovery.
Passionate about classic cars, Albert transformed every vehicle he touched with his skilled hands — owning, fixing, and painting them with care. His devotion to automotive beauty was matched only by his camaraderie with the Valley Vintage Car Club. There, he found joy in Tuesday and Saturday breakfasts, lively supper meetings at Ruby Tuesdays, and the thrill of garage tours and car shows. An ardent NASCAR fan, he also indulged in collecting M&M memorabilia, each piece reflecting a slice of his vibrant spirit.
Albert's presence will be profoundly missed by his daughter, Amy Meader, and his treasured grandson, Keveen Flieth. He is reunited in spirit with his beloved wife, Dianne, who touched the stars in 2023, and with his grandson, Dustin Parker Flieth.
At the age of 80, Albert Meader departed this world on September 29, 2025, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a relentless zest for life. Though he has taken his final cruise on Earth, the memories he created will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Grace United Methodist Church in Moorhead, with Pastor Taylor Johnson officiating. Visitation will start at 10 AM on Saturday.
