Albert Nassif, formerly of Altoona, died June 8 in Annapolis, where he resided with his daughter. He was born August 21, 1921 in Mount Pleasant, Pa., the son of the late John and Sadie Nassif. Mr. Nassif was a graduate of Altoona High School and the Altoona School of Commerce. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, primarily in the European theatre. He was the owner of many small businesses including a club/ restaurant in Altoona. He founded and was the CEO of Florida First Equities, an insurance and real estate holding company operating out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida before returning to Altoona. He was a past member and served on the Board of St. George Orthodox Church in Altoona, PA. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed playing cards. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest and John, and two sisters, Helen Haje and Ernestine McLoota. Surviving are three children, son John David Nassif and daughter Christine Nassif, both of Annapolis, and daughter Laura Gagermeier of Ebensburg, PA; two brothers, George of Annapolis and Robert of Altoona, Pa; two sisters, Lula Brown of Annapolis and Mary Smith of Gaithersburg; two grandsons, John Bryan and Christopher Nassif; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 12 and from 10 a.m. until funeral services at 11 a.m. at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home, Inc. 147 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis. Funeral services will be held in the Taylor Chapel. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
