Albert J. Olsen

Albert J. Olsen, 95, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 24, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was the cherished husband of the late Rita A. (D'Ambrosco) Olsen, and a devoted father and grandfather. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late E. Philip Olsen and Mary E. (O'Hern) Olsen.

Al enjoyed a long and fulfilling career, working for the Rhode Island Electric Protective Company for an impressive 36 years, before transitioning to Wells Fargo, where he continued to contribute his expertise until his retirement. His service extended beyond his career, as he was a proud Army Veteran who bravely served during the Korean War.

A man of deep faith and unwavering family devotion, Al was a loving father to his sons, Albert P. Olsen, John S. Olsen and his wife Elma, and Robert P. Olsen, and a doting grandfather to his grandchildren, Albert P. Olsen, Jr. and Zoë A. Olsen. He was a brother to the late Charles Philip Olsen, Donald Olsen, and Marie Louise Olsen Freitas. His legacy of love, resilience, and devotion will live on through the generations he leaves behind.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 8:45 a.m. from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Rocco Church, 927 Atwood Ave., Johnston. Burial with Military Honors will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 -7 p.m.
