Albert Rodriguez Perez passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 in San Angelo at the age of 85.
Viewing will be from 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with the rosary being said at 6:00 PM. Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 25, 2024 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with father Joey Faylona, officiating. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Albert R. Perez was born in San Angelo, Texas to Jesus and Maria Perez on August 14, 1939. He married Dominga Reyes on July 15, 1956. He worked as a meat packer for Armour Packing Company for many years. Later on, he went to work for San Angelo Independent School District, as well as run his own business called Perez Dry Wall Construction. He eventually retired from San Angelo Independent School District, where he would continue to enjoy retirement alongside his wife and family.
For anyone that knew Albert, he was a very hard worker who always loved to make people laugh by telling stories and jokes. His greatest delight was being able to make others feel loved and welcomed. Most of all, he cherished every moment that was spent with his family. Albert was the glue that held his family together and was the constant support for those he loved the most.
Albert is preceded in death by his father Jesus Perez, mother Maria Perez, son Ricky Perez, brother Tony Perez, and sister Jesusita P. Vantine.
He is survived by his spouse, Dominga R. Perez; two daughters, Brenda Garcia and Laura De La Cruz and her spouse Ray De La Cruz; sisters, Delores Garcia, Rosalinda Gonzales, Linda Guerra, Alice Torres and her spouse Dan Torres; 10 grandchildren, Ricky Perez, David Perez, Kristie Garcia-Mayorga along with her spouse Sergio Mayorga, Adrienne Matthews, Ashley Monique Garcia along with her fiancé Zach Fowlkes, April Estrada, Victor Estrada Jr. III, Amy Tabares along with her spouse Jerry, Raymond De La Cruz along with his spouse Janelle, and Michelle De La Cruz; 11great grandchildren, Mariah Martinez, Julian Martinez, Josiah Ubando, Neveah De La Cruz, Eliana De La Cruz, Elijah De La Cruz, Noah De La Cruz, Christian Estrada, Myles Fowlkes, Milana Fowlkes, and Memphis Fowlkes; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family of Albert R. Perez wishes to extended their sincere gratitude to Dr. Peter Chang, Dr. John Harvey, as well as the staff at Interim Hospice and Caprock Home Health. A heartfelt thank you is shared with Brittni, Tonya, Guillian, Gary, and Lyndsey: "Thank you for the tremendous kindness shown towards our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and for always giving him the best care possible."
