Mr Reid was such an amazing teacher and counselor. While at Yorktown High School, he helped guide me in the college admissions process and convince my parents to allow me to explore bigger and better opportunities. Through his guidance and commitment, he left a lasting impact on my life as this ultimately led to my university path and with a significant scholarship to make it a reality.

The short time I met Mr Reid through my friend, Bennetta, he was the most kindest and generous person I have known. You will be missed, Al. Rest easy... My deepest and sincere condolences to the family, may his soul rest in peace..

Mr. Reid will always be the heart and soul of Yorktown High School. He was never my guidance counselor, but he took an interest in me anyway, which shows just how much he cared about people. He was the dictionary definition of a great man who influenced so many lives for the better. I know people who would not have graduated on time had it not been for Al's dedication to the students of YHS. After college, when I went to work at the school district, his was the first friendly face who came to say 'hi' and welcome me back. My entire group of friends are sad to hear of his passing. Rest in peace, my friend.

Reid so sorry you passed away from us.
But you will be missed at our favorite places to eat.
Dennis and I will try to keep the pace of eating in one of your favorite places. May you be at peace.
Will try to keep and eye on Carol.

Al Reid was a Yorktown High School institution, a friend and supporter to many, and simply a great man. He was also a member of "Bertha´s Bulldogs", a group that met annually to honor YHS `82 graduate, Mike Bertha. Here he is pictured with some of the Bulldogs in 2016. We´ll miss you, Albert!
