Newburgh, NY
Albert J. Riccio, Jr., 64, passed away peacefully at home on March 21, 2022.
Throughout his life, Albert had many different nicknames: "Ricky," "Rick," "Albie," "Al." But no matter what name he was called by friends and family, he was regarded as a loving father, a fun "candy" papa, a companion, and a friend.
Al was born on May 28, 1957, in Cornwall, NY and resided in the Newburgh and New Windsor area for most of his life. He retired from the Laborers Local 17 Union in 2019. He loved to live life to the fullest. Al was a social butterfly who enjoyed a delicious meal and a strong drink. He loved to go out and enjoy live music. He was an avid golfer, and he loved to play a good game of poker. He was a NY Yankees and NY Giants fan.
Al is survived by his daughter, Jovanna Riccio-Barnard, and her husband, Daniel Barnard, as well as his youngest daughter, Alea Riccio, and her fiancé, Matt Gekakis. He is survived by his beloved granddaughter, Reagan. Al is survived by his son, Sean Barrett, his wife, Deann, and their two children, Dylan and Sammie. He is also survived by his companion, Jennifer Nestor, and her three daughters, Zoey, Chelsea and Brittany. In addition, he is survived by Susan Gerken-Riccio, the mother of his daughters, and his brother, Joseph. He was predeceased by his father, Albert Riccio, Sr., mother, Gladys Riccio and sister, Kim Riccio.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, March 25th at Brooks Funeral Home, located at 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh, New York.
