Albert Chester Schattschneider, age 85, of Hwy 44-49, Ripon, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2003.

Albert was born April 6, 1918 in Rosendale, WI, a son of Laura (Kupske) and August Schattschneider. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1943-1946, serving in the 422nd Military Police Company. Albert was employed at Bloedels and later for the Fond du Lac County Highway Dept. until his retirement in 1984. Albert and his wife, Grace, married 61 years, enjoyed polka dancing. He resided at the King Veterans Home for the past year.

Survivors include his wife, Grace (Zech) Schattschneider of Ripon; Son, Michael (Martha) Schattschneider of Markesan; Grandson Christoph (Heather) Schattschneider and their son Dylan of Ripon; Grandson, Benjamin (Sara) Schattschneider and their son, Owen and daughter, Isabella. He is also survived by his sister Esther Hess of Berlin and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Neal and Glen Schattschneider.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 25, 2003, from 6:00-7:00 p.m., with a Legion Service beginning at 7:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service, all at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon. Rev. Mark R. West will be officiating. A memorial has been established.
