Albert Tucker, age 88, of 78 Will Rogers Drive, Saranac Lake NY passed suddenly, but peacefully early Thursday morning, November 20, 2025.
Born on July 6, 1937 in Saranac Lake, NY to Joseph P and Doris (Skeels) Tucker of Vermontville, NY.
Albert was a lifelong resident of Saranac Lake. He worked as a caretaker at Eagle Island Girl Scout Camp on upper Saranac and helped to build Newmans Island (Verdo Newman) in the channel leading to Miller Pond (Oseetah Lake). Albert later worked for Alvin Doty as an electrician in the 60’s and early 70’s. He started his own electrical business, Hotwire Electric Co. in Saranac Lake in the 70’s. He owned and operated his own electrical business until the late 80’s until he took a job with Sunmount, DDSO, and continued to work there until his retirement in the early 2000’s
Albert was an avid outdoorsman his whole life, enjoying deer, rabbit and duck hunting as well as trapping and fishing. Later in life he enjoyed wood carving with duck carving becoming his favorite pastime.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sylvia Tucker of (Elderwood) Lake Placid, two sons Sons, Daniel Tucker (Marsha Moody) of Saranac Lake, NY and William Duso of Cato, NY, three daughters Sally Mosher (Michael Sr.) of Vermontville, NY, Queenie O’Neil of St. Augustine, Fl. and Tracy Jackson (Mart) of Columbus, IN and many grand & great grandchildren, nieces and nephews
He is also survived by two brothers Ernie Tucker & Patricia Tucker Janesville, WI and Jerry Tucker of Constantia, NY.
He was predeceased by his 2nd Wife Peggy (Rushlaw, Duso) Tucker, and three sons Terry Duso, Sherman Tucker, and Michael Duso.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A graveside service will take place in the spring of 2026 at St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Saranac Lake. Friends wishing to remember Albert are asked to consider making memorial contributions to the Saranac Lake Volunteer Rescue Squad in care of the funeral home.
