Albert Lee Washington, 72 of Winchester, VA gained his wings on February 2, 2025, at Winchester Medical Center.
He was born May 27, 1952, to the late Susie Downing Washington and Herbert Washington.
Albert is a member of the John Handley High School Hall of Fame for his many achievements in track and field
He is survived by his brothers Herbert Washington of Frederick, MD and Charles Washington of Winchester, VA and sisters Betty Jordan and Naomi Gilkerson both of Winchester, VA.
He leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.
He is preceded in death by his sister Patricia A. Washington and nephew Zahrain S. Washington Sr.
Albert Lee will be greatly missed for his long walks around the community, smiling and laughing with friends and talking about how proud he was of his accomplishments in life and his love for Mountain Dew.
A memorial service will be held February 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Winchester, VA., with Rev. Dr. Gilbert M. Mack, Jr. officiating.
Inurnment will be held privately at a later date.
Donations may be sent to the Funeral of Albert Lee Washington in care of Cartwright Funeral Home 232 E Fairfax Lane, Winchester, VA 22601.
