James Edward Grier James Edward Grier, 75, was born in Front Royal, VA on May 3, 1951. He passed away peacefully at Belmont Bay Nursing Home in Woodbridge, VA on May 12, 2025. James was educated in Warren County Public Schools and graduated from Warren County High School in 1971. James enjoyed an extensive career in Law Enforcement and Loss Prevention. Notably, James worked in Loss Prevention at Apple Blossom Mall, was a police officer for the Winchester City Police Department and was a Corrections Officer at the Lorton Reformatory. James was preceded in death by his father Frank, mother Phyllis, sister Cuetta, and brothers Clyde and Frank. James is survived by his daughter Judy Hickerson, a sister Claudia, a niece Benita, nephews: Jacques, Darius, Leroy, and Walter. James was known as a quiet, kind, and good-natured person who was adored by his mother, sister, and those whom he cherished. The family offers a special thanks to caregiver and friend Karen Hemming's who provided James with much needed care, support, and friendship during the final chapter of his life… and special thanks to friends Serena Richards, Jean Brown, and Kenyetta Spencer who provided a little sunshine during his long illness. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held 2:00 pm, May 30, 2025, at Good Hope Cemetery in Front Royal, VA., on Friday, May 30 th at 2 pm.
