Alberta Louise Alexander, age 62, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away on February 6, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born on March 11, 1963, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Dale and Betty (Hanson) Yeager. Alberta spent much of her youth growing up in Texas, where she attended high school and met Billy Alexander. Together they welcomed two children, Billy Alexander Jr. and Wendy Alexander.
Later, Alberta and her family moved to Iowa, where they made their home. Alberta lived life on her own terms and with a free spirit. She had a deep love for crafts, country music, and dancing, and she never passed up a chance to have a good time. She loved the beach, enjoyed riding Harleys, liked to camp, and spent many years traveling between Texas, Florida, and Iowa, often living life on the road in her RV.
Above all else, Alberta cherished time spent with her grandchildren, who were the true joy of her life. Her love for them was endless, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Alberta will be remembered for her adventurous heart, her love of music and travel, and the strong bonds she shared with her family.
Alberta is survived by her mother, Betty Yeager; children, Billy Alexander Jr. (Amy) and Wendy Tabbee (Terry); grandchildren, Aiden, Carson, Gannon, Waverly, Adalayde and Harmony; brother, Roy Yeager; sisters, Dale Yaw and JoDee Lemerand; good friend, Randy Bennett; and multiple other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Alexander Sr.; father, Dale Yeager; and sisters, Katie Widman and Lisa Ercanbrack.
