Alberta Florence (Hill) Bundy, age 86 of Jericho, Vermont passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving and supportive family on July 25, 2025.

Alberta was born in Sharon, Vermont on Sept. 8, 1938. She was one of ten children born to Hervie and Florence (Phillips) Hill.

Alberta was married to Warren A. Bundy. Together they built a life in Essex Junction and raised six children. Alberta spent her life devoted to raising her family by being a stay at home mom. When her children were old enough to be self-sufficient, she began working outside the home. Alberta enjoyed working in the restaurant industry. She enjoyed cooking for her family and for others. She made many delicious home cooked meals, canned many jars of pickles, sauces and vegetables, and mended many pieces of clothing. She worked hard to make a great home for her family. She knew how to stretch that all mighty dollar with raising six children. She really enjoyed conversations with people and oh boy, she sure loved to talk and could talk for hours. Alberta was well known for a woman who always spoke what was on her mind. She gave us advice or opinions even when we didn't want it or it was hard. She always had our best interest at heart. She was always doing her best to help her family with her kind heart. She knew how hard it was to be a mom and she was always there to babysit our kids or clean our houses to help us out. Her children got their strength from her. She taught us how to love our children well, create a great home for our families and when things got tough, to be strong and persevere through it. She taught us to never give up.

In her elderly years, Alberta enjoyed putting together countless puzzles, watching CNN, watching Dateline and documentaries especially about her country music artists. Recently, when she became ill and could no longer watch TV or put her puzzles together, she found great peace and enjoyment listening to good old country music. Alberta was a fighter. She battled many health complications over the last few years. She had a strong will and a spunky attitude. She thought of her family right up to the end and did not succumb to her diagnosis of cancer until she made sure her family was going to be okay with her leaving. She leaves her family with some great memories and lots of love for her.

Our mom loved doing things to give back to her community. One way she did this was to collect soda can tabs to help others receive funding for illnesses. It filled her with great joy when she was able to fill a grocery bag full and bring it to the Ronald McDonald house in Burlington. If someone was in need of something, she would always start collecting items for them. She even enlisted others to collect items for the cause. Another and final way she gave back to her community was fulfilling her life long goal of donating her body to the UVM Anatomical Gift Program. It gave her family a tremendous amount of peace knowing that this wish was fulfilled. Now, she will continue to help doctors discover new ways to help people.

Alberta is survived by her children Deanna Fischer and her husband, Brad, Wanda Loven and her husband David, Ronald Bundy and his wife Melody, Brenda Campbell and her husband Clint and Cindy St.Amour. She is survived by 12 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She is survived by her brother, Hervie (Tinker) Hill and his wife, Phyllis. She was predeceased by 8 siblings, her ex-husband, Warren Bundy and her daughter Deborah Ann Gaboriault.

As per her request, there will not be any public service. Her family will celebrate her life by sharing her love, interests and our memories but most of all finding ways to give back to others as she did. The family would like to request a card shower. If you would like to express your condolences, please send a card to The Family of Alberta Bundy at P.O. Box 66 Jericho, Vermont 05465. This is a great way for you to share how you knew our mom and to share some memories that you shared with her. This would really be meaningful to her family as we share them together.

In her memory, and in lieu of flowers, we ask you to pull some tabs and donate them to a local organization that collects them. Our mom would go around at any social gathering to get as many tabs as she could and she would ask people to help her collect them.

Her family wishes to thank her faithful and loyal caregivers, Deanna, Brad, Wanda and David for always being there to give our mom the best care and life she could have. Our mom gained more appreciation and was grateful for the end of life care and support she received. We would also like to thank the doctors and staff at Alderbrook Family Health Center and UVM for their great care. We would like to thank Bayada Home Health Care for giving her a peaceful end of life journey and for the wonderful support that was given to her family during this time. We would like to thank Corbin and Palmer Funeral Home in Essex, Vermont for helping us with final arrangements. Most importantly, we would like to thank the UVM Anatomical Gift Program for accepting her body to science.

It was an honor for us to walk her through the journey home, peace, dignity and comfort. She is at peace and looking down at all of us with love and joy. We love you Mom and we will miss you dearly.
