Evangelist Alberta Burton Carson
Saluda, SC: Evangelist Alberta Burton Carson, 91, of 3098 Old Chappell Ferry Road, transitioned from this life into eternal rest, Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at Walton Rehab, Augusta, GA.
She was born in Saluda County, SC, September 2, 1931, daughter of the late Bennie Lee Burton, Sr. and the late Ophelia Smith Burton. She received her education in the public schools of Saluda County, SC. She was a lifelong member of Piney Grove Holiness Church where she served faithful as An Evangelist until her declining health. She retired from the Custodian Department at Strom Thurmond High School.
In addition her parents, her husband, William Carson, Sr., she was also preceded in death by her siblings, Benjamin Burton, Bennie Lee Burton, Jr., Mary E. Glover, Louise McKinney and Lizzie Young.
She leaves to honor her precious memories,; daughters, Margaret L. Carson and Mary G. Baker both of Manhattan, NY and Beverly Lauther of Charlotte, NC; sons, William O. Carson, Jr. (Chastity) of Columbia, SC and Wendell Burton of Charlotte, NC; ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren one great-great grand; sisters, Dorothy Dobbs of Saluda, SC and Flora Staine of Johnston, SC; brothers, James Burton (Gloria) and Bishop Henry Lee Burton (Ruby Jean) of both of Saluda, SC and Curtis Burton(Alberta) of Beech Island, SC; many Foster Children; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and sorrowing friends.
