In Loving Memory of Alberta Rodriguez
Our beloved mother, Alberta Rodriguez, peacefully passed away on May 28, 2025, at the age of 91 in Queens, New York.
Alberta was deeply loved by her family, friends, church, and community. A woman of unwavering faith, she was a devoted member of her church and actively participated in prayer groups. Even as dementia began to affect her, her faith never wavered-her church friends would visit her at home to pray with her, just as she had prayed with them for so many years.
She was best known for her warm heart and even warmer kitchen. Mom's homemade beef empanadas were legendary-no one ever visited without being offered one. Feeding others was her way of showing love, and she did it with joy. Her guiding motto was one she often repeated in Spanish: "Siempre hacer bien y no mirar a quién"-"Always do good, and don't look at who." She lived by these words every day.
Alberta leaves behind two loving children, Joseph and Rosie, three cherished grandchildren, Jonathan, Amanda, and Jessica, and the newest joy of her life, her great-granddaughter Leonor Sofia. Her family was her pride and joy, and she loved them deeply.
She will be profoundly missed by her church family, lifelong friends, neighbors, and all who had the blessing of knowing her.
May her memory continue to inspire us to live with kindness, faith, and love.
