Alberto Zamora Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sunset Options Funerals & Cremations Inc. on Mar. 26, 2026.
Alberto Zamora Jr., went home to be with Jesus in the early hours of Saturday, March 21, 2026. A picture of resilience to the end, Alberto chose joy daily and never believed in taking life too seriously. He was a devoted husband, step-father, brother, son, friend and church member. His fierce love of Jesus, playful humor and devotion to those he loved, will be forever missed.

Alberto was born on August 2, 1950 to Alberto Zamora Sr. & Raymunda Zamora (nee Hurtado), in Rio Hondo, Texas. As a part of a large family of 12, Alberto lived most of his life in Texas. He traveled with his family as a migrant farmer, harvesting fruits and vegetables when they were in season. Later in his life, he moved to Wisconsin and worked for the State of Wisconsin in the Department of Corrections, the County Park System, and the Department of Motor Vehicles.

On May 11, 1996, Alberto married the love of his life, Marta. Together they built a life of love and devotion to Jesus. In this marriage, he was blessed with two step-sons, Isaias (Corinne) Gonzalez & Armando Gonzalez. During this time, Alberto & Marta joined Discover Church in Oak Creek, WI. Together they became devoted members and volunteers in multiple areas of ministry. Their biggest adventure together was moving to Las Vegas, Nevada to minister wherever they were led. Alberto became widowed in April of 2021, which brought him back to Wisconsin.

Any time there was an event at the church, you could be sure Alberto would be there to serve. He was a devoted member of Impacto, the Men's Ministry, the Kitchen Meal Prep Ministry, and Ushering, just to name a few. Also a big believer in Missions Work, he joined teams to bring the love & hope of Jesus to 2 different areas of Mexico.

Alberto was preceded in death by his wife, Marta (née Hernandez), his parents, Alberto & Raymunda Zamora, and his siblings, Anastacio Zamora, Maria Luisa Zamora, Rene Zamora, Ramiro Zamora, Irene Torres, and Nancy Douby.

He is survived by his siblings Minerva (Anastacio) Maldonado, Victor (Francine) Zamora, Corina (William) Gotay, and Avel Zamora. He is further survived by his step-sons Isaias (Corinne) Gonzalez & Armando Gonzalez. Along with nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Froedtert Hospital for their dedicated care of Alberto over the last weeks. Also, the love shown by Discover Church through all the cards of encouragement and prayers lifted up during such a difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alberto Zamora Missions Fund, established through Discover Church.
